Congrats to Pittsburgh Business Times 2011 HR Leadership Award Winners
On Wednesday afternoon, I had the privilege of attending the 2011 HR Leadership Award winner dinner (slideshow) sponsored by the Pittsburgh Business Times, at the Omni William Penn Hotel here in Pittsburgh, PA. I am a lifelong student of sociology, psychology, anthropology, leadership, and organizational dynamics, so human resources (HR) was one of my favorite subject matters in business school. I like how Wikipedia defines HR-"Human resources is the name of the function within an organization charged with the overall responsibility for implementing strategies and policies relating to the management of individuals (i.e. the" human resources")." As a counselor to businesses, I witness first-hand how all-important an HR director is to an organization. For the small business owner who has no HR department, successfully resolving HR issues can make or break a small business. These were the 13 Human Resources professionals who were recognized.
